Aguachile
Spicy and delicious traditional dish from the Sinaloa coast.
Equipment
- 1 blender
- 1 kitchen knife
- 1 bowl
- 1 strainer
- 1 basic kitchen utensils
Ingredients
- 1 lb medium raw shrimp
- 8 limes
- 1 serrano pepper
- 1 small cup of cilantro
- 1 tsp olive oil
Instructions
- FOR THE SAUCE:Squeeze all lime and place in blender.
- Cut the serrano in half and remove seeds and veins if you do not want super spicy. If you like spice then leave the serrano whole and throw in blender.
- Put the cilantro in the mix, add salt, pepper and a small cup of water, blend everything for approximately minute.
- FOR THE SHRIMP:Peel and devein all shrimp.
- Make a deep cut on the back of the shrimp without completely slicing through, this is what is normally referred to as butterfly shrimp.
- Place the shrimp on a large plate and spread them evenly and season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the sauce on the shrimp and enjoy.

Usually served with tostadas and paired with beer.
