On the wild side of things the most common are Gulf Brown (Farfantepenaeus aztecus), Gulf Pink (Farfantepenaeus duorarum) and Gulf White Shrimp (Litopenaeus setiferus) The most rare shrimp is Pleoticus robustus and is sold as a Royal Red which has been deemed as the most delicious kind.
