Shrimp is not a fish, it belongs to the shellfish family and is specifically a crustacean. Shrimp belongs to the animal group phylum anthropods where as fish belong to the kingdom Animalia, the phylum Chordata. Shrimp are fascinating animals and they have been around for a very long time. There’s reports from geologists of shrimp fossils as old as 360 million years. Now that’s much longer than humans, which have been around approximately 2 million years.
