Salsa Verde Shrimp
Delicious mexican dish with a little seafood twist.
Equipment
- 1 frying pan
- 1 blender
- 1 standard kitchen utensils, (spatula, knife, spoon)
- 1 strainer
Ingredients
- 2 cups green tomato
- 2 serrano peppers
- 1 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- salt
- cilantro
- 2 lbs of large shrimp
- 1 cup sour cream
Instructions
- FOR THE SAUCE: Put half gallon of water in a medium pot, add some salt and bring to boil.
- Add the serrano peppers, garlic, onion and green tomatoes.
- Boil for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Take the ingredients out and place them in a blender for a minute or until they have formed a nice uniform paste.
- Add water if you want to make the sauce a little thinner.
- Set aside and now it's time to do the shrimp
- FOR THE SHRIMP:Peel and devein your shrimp, and season them with salt and pepper.
- Add olive oil in a pan at medium/high heat.
- Cook the shrimp for approximately 3 minutes on each side or until they have turned orange and begin to form a "C"
- Plate the shrimp and pour a generous of Salsa Verde. Add some cilantro for extra flavor.
- Add a touch of sour cream and enjoy
Notes
We recommend having rice as a garnish or a side.
